Eiht was 16, 17 years old with pockets full of money from a cat named Unknown – DJ Unknown. We got fucked, but we were still in the loop, we were still doing tours and videos and all that. It’s a young game, but still Hiphop is so global now.  You got people that’s 50 years old listening to Hiphop these days. We gotta be those Sony’s, we gotta be those Death Rows and those Ruthless Records, you know what I mean?  We gotta be all that these days and cats don’t know how to do that. I’m tryna show these young kids how it’s done.

What about with Snoop being appointed the new head of Priority is that even….

Man, that’s big, man. Big up to my big homie Snoop Dogg, you know what I mean? That’s a longevity friend of mine. We been knowing each other since kids; before rap. I went to school with all of them cats.  But it’s the same thing, like I said, he realizes that it ain’t gonna just jump off you know what I mean? So now he’s in a position where he can take charge. I think he just signed Cypress Hill – that’s a big business move because Cypress Hill got they own lane. I understand what he’s doing – I think if people got they business up, then he fucking with them. If people just tryna make some money then I don’t think he fucking with them.
 
Yea, if people just looking for a hand out then….

Exactly, if someone tryna be a success over night because that’s Snoop Dogg, I don’t think he got an itch for that, but a group like cypress Hill they got their own lane so that’s a good business move for him.

Exactly, that’s why I’m doing stuff like Chillafornia, and hopefully me and Eiht after he finish up the record he’s doing with Premier – he got an album with DJ Premier – asnd Boom Bam drop his thing over seas then we come back and form Voltron and drop a CMW album where we try and do it big – maybe with Snoop Dogg or on our own.
 
Is he [Eiht] still doing that group with Snoop or…?

I don’t know what happened exactly with it, you know what I mean? I don’t wanna put it out there, but I don’t think they doin it no more. I know Eiht right now, he doin a solo album with DJ Premier out on the east coast so that’ll be real big.
 
So are you open to working with East Coast crews?

I’m totally open, like I said I got down with Redman that’s my family member right there, Redman. I got love and respect for Wu Tang, Erick Sermon – man, dude that are straight East Coast or nothing. Cause me, I’m West Coast or nothing. When I go to the East Coast, I’m still West Coast, I like a dude that come to the West Coast and still be East Coast – that’s Redman. Where ever you see him at he still gonna be Brick City. That’s what I love about him. I love them cats because they’re real East Coast cats. I love Jada[Kiss] I ran into him in Atlanta and even though we were in the South he was still so East up I was like man, that’s dope. I like a dude that is from where he’s from and not trying to follow trends. Be a trend setter, so yea, I’m looking forward to getting it in with a lot of East coast cats.
