KRS-One & The Gospel of Hip Hop
07-27-10 19:28

KNOWLEDGE REIGNS SUPREME, or simply “K-R-S” the One; Hip Hop’s greatest live emcee and culture keeper is at it again!

While preparing for his August launch of the Rock The Bells 2010 national tour, KRS-One plans to inspire a new generation of DJs, emcees, breakers, graffiti writers, and beat-boxers with his latest masterwork—The Gospel of Hip Hop.

Packed with over 800 pages of brilliant philosophical writing aimed at the spiritual living of Hip Hop, the Gospel of Hip Hop begins with the fact that Hip Hop is what humans do; Hip Hop is a human skill. In fact, rappin’, break-dancing, graffiti-writing, beat-boxin’, etc, are all human skills and should not be lost to technological innovation.

“Like weaving, swimming and dreaming these activities can all be done without technological assistance” explains KRS-One. “In a world that is making tremendous strides in technological advancement, it is always healthy and right to maintain one’s humanity which is essential to a well-rounded education and most of all, peace of mind”.

And many people agree. Whether it’s his interviews on the BEEF DVD series, or his freestyle appearances on BET’s Hip Hop Awards, or VH-1’s Hip Hop Honors, or the Obama Deception, or any one of his online lectures, or U-Tube performance clips, or his seemingly endless stream of recorded music, KRS-One is enjoying an enormous resurgence from a younger audience seeking authenticity in music and spiritual insight these days.

Recently named, “the de facto spokesperson for Hip Hop” by the Wall Street Journal, KRS-One continues to share his knowledge of Hip Hop to younger audiences eager to hear the ‘teacha’ speak.

Tomorrow, KRS-One will bring his Gospel of Hip Hop to the legendary Amoeba Music in Hollywood, California. Here, “the teacha” is expected to expound upon the “overstandings” of the Gospel of Hip Hop and sign copies of this soon to be rare book classic. History begins Wednesday, July 28th 2010 at Amoeba’s Jazz room at 6:00pm; have your tuition ready.
