Legendary DJ Mr.Magic dies

  According to various sources, legendary DJ Mr. Magic has died from a heart attack.  He debuted on WHBI's "The Mr.Magic Disco Showcase" in 1979.  "Mr. Magic's Rap Attack" launched in 1983 with a young DJ Marley Marl in New York City.

 

 Born John Rivas, Mr.Magic was also a co-founder of the legendary Juice Crew, featuring Biz Markie, Marley Marl, MC Shan, Roxanne Shante, Craig G., Kool G. Rap and Masta Ace.  

 

Artists ranging from Tupac Shakur, KRS-One, Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., Eric B. and Rakim, among others, were all influenced by his legendary show, the first of its kind, to be carried on a major radio station.
