12-20-09 19:05

HHG: Oasis is out now, production by Statik Selectah, E Blaze, Show & KC, Lord Finesse...

OC: Shout out to Ahmed, he did "Pain" one of our strongest songs and there was mix up in the liner notes.  That "Pain" track is strong.  He came to the studio, gave it to us on the strength and he was there when we needed it.  Big up's to Ahmed as well.

HHG: Moving into the new year will you be touring behind the album?

OC: Yeah, we definitely looking forward to the top of the year.  Sometime in the middle of January, early February, something like that.  We're looking for a stateside joint to knock out and of course we're gonna be overseas.  They've shown us countless and timeless love time and time again man.

AG: No doubt...

OC: We really looking forward to that.  I love the touring part.  I mean, I could do without the studio, I'd rather just hit the road.  I just wanna bring the music to the people and have fun and hope they enjoy it...see the people's faces while we rockin'.

AG: Don't get it twisted, the studio is our sanctuary, it's where we get to let you know how we're feeling.  But when you hit that road man...

OC: Ain't nothin' like that, there's no feeling like that...

AG: Nope.  To touch the people that you intended to touch and you can actually reach out on stage and touch them?  We the type of dudes, that after the show, we right in the crowd.  We there, we wanna touch you, we wanna vibe with you, we wanna let you know we appreciate you.  We really mean what we say in these records, you know what I'm sayin'?  Anyone who knows us, we street dudes.  We know how to separate and push this shit we doin' first because this is who we are, this is what we do.  OC was put here to be an emcee.  He was put here to let you know what he's seeing in his community and be an author of this whole shit.  I know that myself.  I know that Show was put here to produce.  We put that first and foremost over everything.

HHG: I just gotta thank you for everything, for all your contributions.  I've grown up listening to your stuff and it's just a great pleasure to speak with both of you.

OC: Dope...

AG: That's what's up man, it's shit like that that keeps us going man.  At the end of the day, when someone can say I grew up on your shit and I'm glad that 20 years later you made an album that's synonymous with the first and it's true hip hop...I mean, what's better than that man?  I mean, come on, what is better than that?  Don't get me twisted - this is not easy.  You have family members, little cousins saying, oh why you ain't on the Hip Hop Honors Show?...

OC: (laughs) yea...

AG: So what's up with Lil' Wayne, his shit is hot, you should reach out to him and try and do a song with him.  You get that and that's not easy.  But at the end of the day, when you can still be who you are after all of these things, I mean come on...

OC: Then you gotta look at it like people are aspiring to get that legendary status as we have.  I mean, this came from nothing but hard work and good music.  I don't knock nobody.  If you feel like you're true to yourself with that then that's a great thing...but stay true to what you do.  People see through the bullshit so you can't fool people.

AG: Word.  I'm good that when they judge our body of work at the end of the day, they're gonna say like, them dudes were some different dudes and we gotta just tip our hats and salute them.  That's all we want man.
