Urban Threshold and Yo! Promotions proudly present the 2010 Underground Music Awards (UMAs) invading the Times Square, NYC on August 22, 2010. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketmaster.


The event will take place at the famous BB King's Theater in the heart of NYC's Times Square. The award show will be a star-studded mega musical show with performances by the nominees, featured major label acts and appearances by film and fashion celebrities.


Nominees in 37 prestigious music categories ranging from "Best Male Rapper", "Most Exciting New Artist" to "DJ of the Year" are anxiously waiting for the UMAs to take place. Past Underground Music Award winners include MIMS, Nicky Minaj, Cory Gunz, Freeway, Lil Mama, Skyzoo, Killah Priest, Donny Goines, Esso, Stimuli, Torae, Big Lou, Serius Jones, Remy Ma, Styles P, Papoose, Saigon, Afu Rah, Lumidee, Emilio Rojas and Fred The Godson among others.


Furthermore, there will be a special tribute to legendary Hip-Hop icons such as Naughty By Nature, EPMD and West Coast veteran Ice-T. Past Underground Music Award honorees include Hip-Hop legends like Slick Rick, DMC, Grandmaster Flash, MC Shan, DJ Red Alert, DJ Kid Capri, Kool G. Rap, M.O.P., Ralph McDaniels, Cormega, DJ Kay Slay, DJ Envy and many more.


Equally important this year, the Underground Music Awards are donating a portion of the proceeds to Hope for Haitian Children Foundation, a non-profit organization that has 2 orphanages in Haiti that is home to over 60 children.
