Veteran hip hop industry A&R agent Matt "M-Eighty" Markoff has revealed that a sequel to Method Man & Redman's cult classic comedy "How High" is in the early stages of production.

While on Hip Hop DX's DXLive show on Facebook, the famous A&R rep, who has also worked with artists like Wu Tang Clan and Kurupt, revealed that a sequel to "How High" is being made. According to M-Eighty, a script has been finalized and he is currently working to secure funding for the production of the film.

"How High" was originally released in 2001 and since gone on to become a cult classic. The comedy starred Method Man and Redman as a pair of marijuana obsessed friends who get accepted into Harvard University after acing the SAT exam while high. While the movie received negative reviews from critics and saw only modest success at the box office, it has since become a cult classic and is now frequently named as one of the best modern stoner movies, alongside Dave Chappelle's equally underrated "Half Baked."

A sequel has been repeatedly discussed by Method Man and Redman in the sixteen years since, with Method Man even telling fans to show their demand for a sequel by signing an online petition.

The project now looks like it's finally getting underway. The sequel, which will is titled "Too High," still doesn't have a release date, but M-Eighty promised that it will feature more celebrity cameos than the original movie. The original movie featured a cameo from fellow hip hop legends and marijuana connoisseurs Cypress Hill.
